BIG YATE LIB DEM COVID-19 SURVEY

Please will you help us by filling in our on line survey about COVID-19 and its impact on your family and our community. We are delivering 12,000 copies door to door to a sample of houses.
EVERYONE can help by filling in the short survey - on line (or on paper if one comes through your door) - at southgloslibdems.org.uk/cv19-survey
Experts are telling us what we SHOULD be thinking, but this survey aims to find out what YOU think are the priorities and impacts round here - so we can press local councils and the MP to act on the things that are troubling YOU right now. This has been organised and funded entirely by volunteers - from the Lib Dem FOCUS team (as your councillors)

Help Us Help You South West survey

What do you think about the new ways health and care services and the voluntary and community sector have been helping people in the South West? For example, by offering online and telephone appointments.
You can share your views by completing this questionnaire. It should take 10-15 minutes and will be open until 31 July 2020. A report with the results of the survey will be published on the NHS England, NHS Improvement South West website and participating health and care organisations. You can also receive a copy of this report by providing your email address.

Have your say on access to GPs

Concerns were raised at a recent meeting of the Health Scrutiny Committee that some people find it more difficult than others to access GP and other healthcare services. This could depend on appointment booking systems, public transport, how rural the area they live in is and how close they are to a boundary with another council area.

Healthwatch has agreed to undertake a piece of research on the committee's behalf to find out people’s experiences of accessing GP services. You can share your experiences at:

http://fluidsurveys.com/surveys/tcfsurveyhominoid/your-gp-healthwatch-sglos/

If you would like to discuss the survey with someone from Healthwatch, please call 01454 543 402.

Calling all business owners - let's hear YOUR views on Brexit

This morning our Lib Dem parliamentary candidate Claire Young was in Chipping Sodbury with Cllrs Linda Boon and Adrian Rush. They were asking local business owners what impact they thought Brexit would have on their businesses and what they were looking for in a Brexit deal to reduce any negative impacts. Some said they had already felt the impact of the slump in the pound, with the cost of imported goods rising rapidly. If YOU'RE a local business owner, please complete our survey online at http://www.claireyoung.org.uk/business_survey before 12th December.

Your views will be fed into the Liberal Democrats' National Consultation on Brexit. The Tory Brexit Government has not got to grips with the complexities of leaving the EU. The Liberal Democrats will be challenging the Government at every opportunity to make sure the concerns of businesses locally and across the country are heard.

Tell Claire - What issues matter to YOU?

As we reported recently, local councillor Claire Young is now the Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for Thornbury and Yate.

Of course she has already campaigned right across the constituency in a number of elections, but now she has launched a campaign "Tell Claire", asking local residents about their views on the most pressing local and national issues. Your views and opinions matter to us, as they help us to ensure we campaign for the things that YOU care about.

Please take a few moments to fill in Claire's survey here: www.southgloslibdems.org.uk/tellclaire.

Please do also pass this link onto any friends and family members who might be interested.

Survey - TV interference caused by phone masts

Since the summer, people have been contacting the Focus Team about problems with their Freeview TV signal following the installation of new 4G phone masts in the place of old 3G ones.

There is a service, at800, that was set up to help with these problems. However, they won't help if you have access to an alternative service on one TV - such as Sky or Virgin Media - even if you have other TVs in the house that can only use Freeview. We've also heard of a number of cases where the filters they've supplied have not been enough to fix the problem and people have ended up having to take time off work to wait in for engineers to visit.

We're trying to gather evidence of the extent of the problem and have created a short survey. If you've been affected, please fill it in here.
