Yate Town Council holds its first on line council meeting
This week, Yate Town Council held its first ever on line meeting. Regulations permitting meetings to be held on line came into force on 3rd April and Yate held a finance committee on line on Tues 7th.
An exciting experiment. The Town Council is trying to minimise meetings, with officers consulting councillors by email. The Town Council is lucky that its standing orders already include good delegated powers, and we have an officer team who work with members so that the town council is getting things done, including making major changes to ensure the town council prioritises COVID and the safety of our community.
You can find out when town council meetings are from the town council webpage http://www.yatetowncouncil.gov.uk/. The Annual Parish Meeting has been cancelled, as it is for all residents to come and comment on town issues - and doing it on line would exclude too many people who can't use zoom. And some meetings have been cancelled but you can see which meetings are happening and how to attend as a resident.
