 To help you find out more about your Lib Dem Focus Team candidates for Central Yate we have published this guide.

TOWN CENTRE PARKING

Thank you to everyone who replied to the Focus team on facebook or email in response to the leaflets. Almost everyone who replied supported the proposals, but many wanted the parking controls to go further.

A key part of the problem for many people is all day parking by shopping centre staff who can't use the shopping centre. Some people felt the shopping centre should be doing more to manage this problem itself.

NEW PARKING RESTRICTIONS ON RIDGE

South Glos has published a big set of proposals for new parking restrictions around the centre of Yate. Here are the proposals for the Ridge - we have been delivering a special FOcus to alert residents on The Ridge but please will you share with people you known who use the school or the shops or dentist, so they can comment. The S Glos deadline for comment is 15th June. We will be publishing the rest of the proposals on this site in separate posts in the next few days - you can see the whole package at southglos.gov.uk/consultations

Howard Lewis Park new play equipment

Have you visited the new play equipment in Howard Lewis Park?

If you've not been there before, it's on the Ridge (the area by the tree sculpture)  behind the shops.  Why not visit the local shops whilst you are there too.

The photo shows the Mayor, others members of the Focus Team and Town Council staff at the opening - who were involved in raising the funds and making it happen.
