St Nicks Youth Centre to reopen Friday 13 Feb

Focus Team members celebrate the good news

Some great news about St Nicks Youth Centre - thanks to a lot of work by members of the Focus Team and Yate Town Council, the Youth Centre will reopen on Friday 13 February. They've raised the funds, found a leader and recruited the staff.

The session will run from 7 pm to 9 pm, for ages 11 to 18, entry 50 pence.

And there will be free pizza at the opening night!

You can take part in lots of activities - football, cooking, arts and crafts - or just chill with your mates.

For any further information please contact Cath Challinor on 07909 744853.

    What Happened?
The youth Club was not open at 7pm on Friday 13th Jan, instead outside were a group of youngsters waiting.
Should not have been advertised as open if it was not!!!

  2. I've enquired. The staff member who was opening up - the only one familiar with the premises - was taken ill, so it was judged unsafe to run inside activities last Friday. The Outreach Youth Workers ran outdoor activities (with free pizza!) from the Urbie Youth Bus instead. Last night's session ran with indoor activities as planned.

  3. Hello all. we're looking forward to the visit on Friday 22 to Monday 25 May by a group of French guests from Sodbury area's twin town, Cesson. This year we have a small group of young people, including two delegates from the Cesson youth council (15 yrs old, female). It would be great to have them welcomed by some local young people on one of the days they're here. They also have an exchange project to propose which looks amazing. What an opportunity! Sorry for short notice - we've tried a number of avenues without success. Can any interested parties please call me on 07815 184765. Merci! Mark Seed, Sodbury & District Twinning Association.
