Two "X" buses saved - but other services to go

First Bus has announced the results of their public consultation on bus service changes. In the Yate / Chipping Sodbury / Dodington area, the headlines are:

  • Two "X" express services will now remain and run down the M32
  • South Yate will get two express services per hour instead of one
  • Cotswold Road keeps its bus service
HOWEVER...
  • Cranleigh Court will lose its bus services
  • North Yate will only have one bus per hour to Bristol and Yate Shopping Centre
  • Chipping Sodbury will lose its direct First Bus service to Frenchay Hospital
  • But don't forget that the Cotswold Edge 200 service will still run from Chipping Sodbury to the hospital
The new services will start from Sunday 3 August - we'll have to wait for the timetables to see how quick the X services will actually be, as the routes have been changed in places.
