New target for vandals - street cabinets

The metal cabinets you see by the roadside are either electricity, BT phones or cable TV/phones. A couple of weeks ago a BT cabinet in Harescombe was pushed right over during the night.

In the latest incident on Wednesday the Virgin (ex Telewest and Blueyonder) phone box between Blaisdon and Woodchester was damaged by fireworks and burnt out inside. Cable phones in the area are off until Sunday or Monday because of the repairs needed.

Thank you , I've been without a landline since Thursday, despite repeated calls to Virgin Media from my workplace this is the first clear piece of information I've received on the situation.

  2. Lines are still down as of Wednesday 31st. Still no info available from Virgin Media when I asked when they are due to be up again.

  3. Parrot, is it back yet? I've checked tonight and some of the neighbours are definitely back on (evening of Wed 31st)

  4. Mines not. Have got the following email back from Virgin Media:

"We're sorry to hear you're having some trouble right now. We've taken a look at the network in your area and the issue in the area has been
    resolved."

They then ask a few questions to check my actual phone is working (which it is!) then say:

"Depending on what's happening, we may need to arrange for a member of
our team to visit you at home."

So if anyones still get problems then I would get in contact with Virgin Media now to get someone out to fix the problem!
